We want everyone to “Optimize Their Endocannabinoid Health.” Exciting new studies are suggesting omega-3s have valuable roles within the human endocannabinoid system, ECS for short. The system in which phytocannabinoids, like CBD, or naturally occuring endocannabinoids travel through your body.

For example, research done by Dr. Aditi Das, University of Illinois, suggests omega-3s are precursors to endocannabinoids. She has also noted a discovery of a pathway that converts omega-3-derived endocannabinoids into anti-inflammatory molecules. These molecules mainly bind to the receptors found in the immune system.

These findings reveal how omega-3s may be playing roles in the ECS and how they are traveling through in similar ways as phytocannabinoids. Subsequently this finding reveals how omega-3s may produce some of the same medicinal benefits as phytocannabinoids but we’ll leave that for another discussion.

Omega-3s are vitally important to human health, and among the many discovered benefits, if they are optimizing the ECS in anyway, it’s just another reason to remain efficient. We believe this may translate into phytocannabinoids delivering to body more effectively. This is something we are paying very close attention too and will continue to shed light on as it develops.
